Warning! The organisation,
dates and regular course of the SMIT 2004 Conference, as it is shown in
this website, cannot be guaranteed due to possible move from S. Giovanni
Hospital of the Conference President Prof. Cristiano GS Hόscher. Ultimate
Information on this matter will be published on line by the end of
June.
Venue The conference will
be held at the San Giovanni Hospital, P.le San Giovanni in Laterano, Rome,
Italy. There is excellent metro transport from the city center to the
hospital.
Language The official
language during the conference is English. On Friday December 17
during the Live Surgery Session and the joint sessions with the
international Workshop on Advanced Laparoscopic and Oncology Surgery held
in the main Auditorium "Corsia delle Donne"simultaneous translation will
be available.

Abstracts Abstracts must
be submitted using the online form on www.smit2004.com. Submission
deadline: Sep 13, 2004.
Abstract guidelines The abstract must be submitted
in English. Abstracts must be structured using the following section
headings - background - methods - results - conclusions
The maximum is 250 words. Preference for oral or poster presentation
must be indicated. The name of the author presenting the paper should
be given. A name and address for correspondence should be given.
When percentages are used, the absolute numbers of derivation must
be stated.
All abstracts submitted by PhD students, residents and
medical students will be considered for the Young Investigator Award.
Abstracts accepted for presentation will be published in
the MITAT journal. Notification of acceptance will be given around April
30, 2004. For publication of abstracts registration before May 1 is
mandatory.
Poster Guidelines Poster
Exhibit: Sala Folchi Poster size: height 150 cm, width 100
cm Posters have to be hanged on Thursday December 16 from 8:30 a.m. to
1:30 p.m. Posters have to be removed on Saturday December 18 not later
1:30 p.m. Pins will be provided by the Conference
Secretariat. Posters discussion will be held on Friday December 17 from
2:30 to 3:30 p.m. The Author presenting the work should stand by the
poster. Posters presented by PhD students, resident and medical
students will be considered for the SMIT Poster Award. Authors should de
prepared to give a short presentation (3 minutes 2 minutes discussion)
whitin the Poster Award Session in case of selection by the Award
Committe.
